Gustavus G'nort Esplanade G'neesmacher Dragoon-Talanador the Third (DoF: 17 WoL; DoM: N/A; DoS: 213 WoL) -- GGEGDTtT wisely disengaged himself from Captain Futility and struck out on his own this year, forming the umpteenth incarnation of CoD. The absolute worst of the worst in Hydra Season 1 with a rubbish -78 points (putting him 406 points behind Little Miss Spitfire), GGEGDTtT was absolute shambles. I wonder if he still owns Captain Futility's soul from last year.

There's no real reason to think TheLongestNameInKnownHistory will do any better this time out except he can't possibly be that bad again. Right? I mean, if he was that bad again, it'd be legendary. And GGEGDTtT does tout himself as a legend. Gives new meaning to the phrase 'Be Careful What You Wish For', doesn't it? Like Jake Thrash, G will probably avoid Twilight Isle like the Plague and though he could challenge for an Opal, his shot at winning one's pretty slim. GGEGDTtT's poised to raise the most ruckus in the Arena by shooting for a Barony or even the Overlord's Isle. Maybe that's a good thing in the long run -- GGEGDTtT's got enough on his hands figuring out where he's going to get points out of this cadre he's assembled. Nothing like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip, after all.

Ellisa Morgan (DoF: N/A; DoM: N/A; DoS: 74 WoL) -- Ah, Britissa. One of my bigger fans even if she is a bit barmy. Just before she bailed off of Pulling Rank in the 2011 DoS Team Tournament, Britissa called me a "loud-mouthed, insult-spewing nobody", decreed my team analysis as "drivel [that] will work as a coaster for my beer...everything else about it is rubbish" and implied my worthlessness because I'm not a veteran of the Arena's rings or TDL. Full of vim and vinegar, this one! Ah, memories! The recollection of our banter still brings a smile to my face.

Veteran or no, I can still call 'em as I see 'em. Back then, though she didn't much appreciate the effort, I praised Britissa for her unpredictability and touted that trait as her ticket to success. I stand by that analysis and go so far as to state that it applies to this very tournament!

After a lengthy absence from the rings following her most recent stint as Overlord, Britissa's recently returned, won herself a WLT-grant and is currently involved in a challenge for Overlord that'll conclude a few days after Hydra Season 2 begins. That whole winning the WLT-grant thing? Born right out of unpredictability. Nobody's had the chance to fight her in a long time, giving her the element of surprise! When I'm right, I'm right. And I'm right. Sod off if you think otherwise.

Now, if Britissa's going to truly help this team, she's got to expand out of the Arena. GGEGDTtT needs to ensure she gets herself back onto the Fists standings (where she'll return as an Emerald with an 0-1 Opal-challenge record) and ventures onto the Isle for a few duels given that a 2-0 record over there means you're worthy for a title-shot. That 2-0 deal makes about as much sense as children dueling if you ask me, but Hydra competitors may as well take advantage. More importantly...my dear Britissa, am I forgiven after all this time? Will you meet me at the pub for a pint or three? I'd be chuffed to bits if you'd agree! We can even set our beers upon rubbish piles for old time's sake.

Rena Cronin (DoF: 18 WoL; DoM: 23 WoL (Keeper); DoS: 39 WoL) -- Rhydin's favourite candle maker has found her way back to the rings and somehow got talked into joining up with GGEGDTtT's motley crew for this event. Rena's previously held title in the dueling Arena and currently has one over on the Isle. She's presently under challenge for the Fire Keeper's Key by Jacen Balthazar and we'll know shortly if she'll go after a Barony or an Opal once Hydra begins. As the team's most well-rounded dueler, GGEGDTtT needs to rely upon Rena to win, win a lot and win big. If she can't carry this team on her shoulders, GGEGDTtT's title hopes and dreams will melt away like the leftover wax from Rena's discards. Speaking of -- my humble abode gets quite dark in the evenings. Might there be a Rena Cronin Outlet Store us poor blokes can visit for discounted candles?

Salvador Delahada (DoF: 0 WoL; DoM: N/A; DoS: 3 WoL) -- Yeah. Anyone expecting much from Mr. Delahada? Me either. Here's a hint, buddy: a suave accent's going to get you nowhere in the rings. Sal's #1 dueling claim to fame? Winning the Talon of Redwin almost a year ago. As we can see from his Arena WoL record, that didn't do a whole load of good. Sal's #2 dueling claim to fame? Winning a ribbon (yes, a ribbon like a Primary 1 tot would get for colouring within the lines) in the Seaside Super Fun Time Squire Extravaganza tournament. How quaint.

Advice for Mr. Delahada: You might want to, I don't know, try getting some matches in before Hydra starts. The way I see it, the only reason this cat's on the team is to earn bonus points for promoting rank in all 3 sports. He's certainly not going to make the jump to title-challengeable rank (except for perhaps on the Isle where again, anything lucky enough to scrape together 2 WoL is somehow deemed worthy of title-challenge). Well, that and maybe he can bring ribbons to share with everyone. Ribbons for all! Huzzah!

Charles Blackstone (DoF: 0 WoL; DoM: 0 WoL; DoS: N/A) -- Chuck, Chuck, Chuck. Here's the thing, bud. You've got to duel in order to help your team. Chuck hasn't fought a Magic duel in over 7 weeks, hasn't fought a Fists duel in over 9 weeks and isn't even on the Arena's standings. Hard to believe he had a Tower over on the Isle recently, isn't it? Too bad he couldn't hold onto the Keeper's Key or the 2 WoL he needs to challenge again. (Message To Twilight Isle: Charles is a prime example of why people with 2 WoL should not hold title!). Apparently, like Salvador, Chuck's on the team to contribute points via rank-gains. Outside of the Isle, though, I don't really think he'll contribute much. Let's hope GGEGDTtT didn't put a tonne of performance clauses in this guy's contract or he, like Captain Futility last year, may find his soul locked away in GGEGDTtT's vault. You know, I'd like to see that vault someday. GGEGDTtT's Vault Of Souls And Other Knickknacks (aka GGEDTtT's VOSAOK). Sounds blooming marvelous if you ask me!
