I really don't like that this team's pegged for 3rd. It was the only leftover spot after ranking all the other teams which just seems bollocks. Monday Morning's Trash might be 3rd, they might be 6th. This competition really is Beat Down and Everyone Else so it doesn't matter.
With one rookie and four veterans (two of whom are the only relevant duelers) this team has promise. Chances are, though, they'll fall short of their potential. They're pretty much set up for failure. Want to know why? Read on.
Steve Armstrong (DoF: 2 WoL; DoM: N/A; DoS: N/A) -- So get this: The boyfriend of a low-level Wrecking Crew member (ex-Governor Fio Helston) strikes out on his lonesome, forms his own team, doesn't have his girlfriend on the team but does sign up a different girl from WRC. Yeah, I'm sure that's gone over real well in the bedroom. Hope the couch is comfy, Stevie...you're in for a lot of lonely nights.
Stevie's got himself a Jade rank in the Outback and absolutely nothing else. He doesn't have the experience or pedigree to lead a team but he's doing it anyway. Maybe, like Sylus over on Team HYDRA, he's going to point at various rings and hope Myria and Vinny can bring home the bacon. It'd also help if he could win some duels on the Isle and in the Arena without giving away points like hotcakes to other teams. Given he ought to have some extra energy with all that sleeping alone, Stevie might just snag himself some additional duels and points as the weeks roll on. In fact, he'd better do just that if he wants to stick in the top 3.
Vincent Smith (DoF: 73 WoL, Opal; DoM: 90 WoL; DoS: 41 WoL) -- With rank in all three sports and title in the Outback, Vinny stands as the 1 in SNL's Big Two. Not that Big 2 means a whole lot given the makeup of this team. He's basically #1 by default. Even so, Vinny ought to claim himself another title (probably on the Isle) even if he does lose ShadoWeaver. It's actually a good thing Vinny lost the Archmage title to Shadow since that allows him to challenge for Towers. You lucked into that one, mate. Take advantage.
Lorance Sneggle (DoF: N/A; DoM: -2 WoL; DoS: 47 WoL) -- Given his career WoL, it stands to reason that Stevie signed Snugglebear's as an Arena specialist. Snugglebear better live up to expectations or his presence on this team is utter rubbish, much like his WoL on the Isle and in the Outback (where he has none). Maybe a name change would do Snugglebear some good. Seriously, who wants to be known as Snugglebear in a bloodsport? This guy's got nothing on Crunchem from where I sit, plushie and all.
Myria Graziano (DoF: 38 WoL; DoM: 2 WoL; DoS: 6 WoL) -- WRC's public relations department's been eerily silent on the Crew's failure to field a team and the farming out of Kheldar and Myria to other teams. Something's fishy in Crewville if you ask me. But what else is new?
As the 2 in SNL's Big Two, even if the Graziano runt guzzles down gallons of that Silver Mark: Blue stuff, it won't be enough to push this team over the top. Myria utterly and unforgivably missed the boat regarding Hydra Season 2 challenges which is a motif dating back to Season 1 when she captained WRC. Though the only ranked dueling title she's ever held is Diamond over in the Outback, she has won back-to-back Talon of Redwin tournaments. That's good. She's had the Talon something like 14 weeks now. She has about 4 WoL to show for it. That's rubbish.
If Myria can claw her way into a title or two and scratch herself into Grand Master or even Warlord, she'll do what she needs to: be 1st or 2nd on this team in points and give them half a chance to stay relevant. Stevie, Snugglebear and Cory sure aren't going to pick up whatever slack she leaves behind.
Cory Havoick (DoF: 16 WoL; DoM: 51 WoL; DoS: 107 WoL) -- Wasn't this guy dead? Should we stick him inside Deathlord's Lost & Found? Shouldn't he be a Minion? So many questions, so few answers.
Assuming he's in shape and on point, Cory's a dual-threat in the Arena and on the Isle and has the potential to help out in the Outback as well. Unfortunately for SNL, Cory hasn't dueled, depending on the sport, in the last 4-6 weeks. That doesn't bode well for stepping in and racking up a series of big wins in a tournament where big wins matter a whole lot. Not the best planning by Stevie. He better hope this gamble pays off.
