After validation of his challenge, Mage Emeritus Cassius Maximius faced the Keeper of Earth, Russel Aires Strong, for the right to bear the title.

In a "best of three" format, Cassius won the first duel 5-4 in 14 rounds. The defender was able to come back in the second duel, winning 5.5-3 in 9, to tie it up at 1-1. Finally, Cassius won the third duel, 5-3.5 in 10, to win the title of Keeper of Earth away from Russel Strong.
