In an unscheduled challenge, Emerald Xerzes Maureen fought Harris D'Artainian for the right to bear the Blue Opal, also called IceDancer.

In the "best of three" event, Harris was able to fight off Xerzes in the first duel, winning 5-4 in 12 rounds, but then lost the second to the challenger in a quick 5-2 in 9 duel that took place in the Ice Rink. Tied at one duel apiece, the combatants fought to sudden death in the third match before Harris was finally able to make the winning score (and retain the title) in the 12th round to win the duel 5-4.
