In a surprising turn of events, only two duelers entered the Archmage Tourney. Gloria Blaze faced Tim Enralyte in a "Best of Three" format for the right to challenge the Archmage Will Wulfson.

Gloria won twice in row, 5-3.5 in 11 rounds and 5-4 in 11 rounds, to earn the right to challenge. As the event went so quickly, and the Archmage was on hand, Gloria and Will agreed to fight that same night.

Gloria then proceeded to defeat the Archmage twice in a row as well, and won the title of Archmage.
